I’m not one to post blogs and shit when peeps die, but it’s pretty rare that it happens in the metal world, especially to somebody who is very young.
Mike Alexander, the 32-year-old bassist of UK thrashers Evile – which just happens to be one of my favourite “modern” thrash bands (ironically because they debuted with such an old-school sound) – died yesterday in Sweden, a few days into their European tour.
The band was on tour with Amon Amarth, and after being taken ill suddenly and rushed to hospital, Mike died. Suspected cause of death was a blood clot.
My sincere condolences to his family, band mates and friends.
