This Excel template will help you to assess your blog topic ideas against your corporate strategy.

Corporate strategy requires on-point, targeted content

It must support your company’s vision and direction.

By putting in your topics and your key points, you are then able to rate how well the material is suited to what your organisation is working towards.

You will never again create material that causes management or executives to wonder why on Earth you’re publishing an article about [thing], or how it fits.

How this template works

This template works by asking you for your content ideas, and then to:

  • rate against your 3-year, 5-year, and 10-year goals
  • rate against your strategic audience
  • understand the main point of your content piece.

It then gives you an overall rating, with suggestions for making it tighter and more effective.

Show your executives how and why your content fits

With this template, you will be able to show them (if they ask!) how the content fits and how you assessed it ahead of time. Management loves stuff like that.

It will also help you to refine your thinking about your topics. This way, if you’re getting a freelancer to help you, you will also be in a better position to create focused and valuable briefing documentation.

No corporate communications officer can do without it!
