The Hedgehog Concept, developed by Jim Collins (see his book Good to Great), is my most-recommended tool for those who want their content and communications to support their business direction. All business publishing requires a business model (just like your business!) but this is the step before that. You have to know what you’re doing before you even begin; that’s where this template rules supreme.
The Hedgehog Concept is more robust than simply ‘finding your why’. It gives you:
- a reason
- a model
- a True North
- a decision-making guide.
Use it for every content, communications, publishing or marketing decision you make.
It is, in fact, the most useful and robust tool that I’ve ever found.
