20 Years of Wacken Open Air: a 4-part series

The fabulous Goatlady and I have been collaborating on a series of articles about the world’s biggest metal festival, Wacken Open Air. In what is potentially the universe smiling upon us, I managed to get her and my Swedish photographer Daniel Falk accredited for this festival. As I write this (Sunday night, though it is being posted on Wednesday I think), Goatlady and her fella are madly preparing to get to the airport to fly to Hamburg. How exciting.

Anyway, in the past couple of months, we have co-authored a series of articles about the history of Wacken, preparatory to the festival taking place in its 20th year. Please go read – and if you like em, drop a comment at the bottom of the articles on the site.

20 Years of Wacken: Part One – The First Five Years (1990 – 1994)

20 Years of Wacken: Part Two – the End of the First Decade (1995 – 1999)

20 Years of Wacken: Part Three – Beyond the Music (2000 – 2004)

20 Years of Wacken: Part Four – Time to Celebrate (2005-2009)

Now just to wait for the goodies to come our way over the next couple of weeks from Europe. It still excites me so much that I can barely sit still! \m/ >< \m/
