For Whom the Bell Trolls

A shared video that argues the benefits of disabling comments on videos.

I’m sharing this for a few reasons, mostly because it needs to be shared.

It describes why I refuse to indulge Blabbermouth; a friend described it as “the Two Minutes Hate of Metal”. I ignore ignorant or closed-minded social media; I disengage as soon as people get aggressive. I do not watch the news, or the TV. I will not discuss anything of value with hard line atheistic science nuts, because they are among the most closed-minded people I’ve met.

Few people nowadays are actually kind or compassionate. Fewer are truly empathic. I could count on one hand the people I know who are serious about introspection, personal growth, and positive change.

And out of all of my friends it is not a stretch to say that 3 of every 5 are on antipsychotics or antidepressants – and therefore do not have an untainted perception of their own reality. That is their choice, and I refuse to judge anyone on it. But to say that their perception of their own emotions is untainted by pharmaceutical drugs would be a falsity.

Fewer and fewer people have an emotional intelligence that allows them to transcend aggression, competition, fear, hatred, and bigotry in the face of dissenting notions. So, most of the time I stay quiet about most things. And it’s why I will not participate in your two minutes’ hate – regardless of the channel in which it occurs.

This video is worth watching. If it resonates, please share. If it doesn’t, feel free to bounce away to somewhere else.
